DESCRIPTION: YALAMEH rugs are very densely knotted rugs with soft wool and a tight pile. Their warps are mostly cotton and their wefts are either cotton or wool. YALAMEH rugs have many beautiful colours and are skilfully divided into a lattice of diamonds that encloses a number of stylised geometrical animal, flower, and bird patterns. Indeed a unique characteristic is three or more diamond-shaped medallions in a straight line. Dark red and light brown on a blue or orange background are the main colours in YALAMEH rugs and carpets and they are great with both modern and traditional furniture.
